The “river of the warthogs” is the only water source in this area in the dry season.

The park is known for its large herds of elephants, which often gather on the river. You can also see giraffes, zebras, wildebeests and other antelope species. Of course, their hunters, lions and leopards are not far either. Another special feature is the large and very old baobab trees. Enjoy lunch at one of the park’s picnic areas. It is home to thousands of flamingos and around 500 other bird species. As you explore the national park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, elephants and, if you are lucky, lions that rot in the trees.

These made the park famous. You will have your picnic lunch in the park. In the late afternoon you drive via Maasai Boma to the city ‚Mto wa Mbu ‘ to take an excursion to the banana plantation or to explore the area by mountain bike. Spend the night and have dinner at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge.
