Hop in a dala dala (local transport) that brings you within 20 minutes to Tengeru, a lively village along the Moshi/Arusha road and beautiful green countryside. Your guide will take you through rich coffee and banana plantations and on a relaxing walk around Lake Duluti Forest Reserve where many different bird species can be found.
The walk ends in the village, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink in a local bar and try a chips mayai (chips in an omelet) or a delicious nyama choma, the typical Tanzanian barbeque.
On Wednesdays and Saturdays, you can also take a stroll through the local market. Duration : approx. 4 hours.

On Masai market days many Masai gather to buy and sell cattle and all kinds of goods. It is a social gathering as well. You will get a first glimpse of Masai life here. Take a look at traditional tools, enjoy the colorful outfits, get an insight in traditional Masai medicine, see how cattle is being inspected and sold, observe a goat being slaughtered and taste the nyama choma ya mbuzi (grilled goat meat).
There is a Masai market in Kisongo, Ngaramtoni, Monduli chini or Meserani, depending on the day of the week. Transfer to and from the market is by public ‘dala dala’. Duration : 3-6 hours

Visit to the snake park of Meserani; this little zoo has a comprehensive collection of most snakes that live in Tanzania. There are also turtles and crocodiles.

Your guide will give you a short introduction on Tanzanian food and explain about the different local dishes. After you have decided on the menu you'd like to cook, you'll go and buy all ingredients at the local market.
At a local household in Arusha your guide will show you the cooking utensils that are used in Tanzania, before you can start the actual preparations.
You'll have your meal outside on reed mats under the banana trees. After your meal you can have a short walk around the neighborhood. Duration : 3-4 hours.
