Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre

Then this is definitely the place to be!! Here you won’t be bothered by pushy sales people and you can walk and look around at your own pace in peace.

The Cultural Heritage Centre Arusha already hosted a variety of Monarchs and Presidents in the past like:

• Norway: King Harald, Queen Sonja and Princes Martha Louise
• South - Africa: Thabo Mbeki and Zanele Mbeki
• USA: Bill Clinton , Chelsea Clinton and George W. Bush
• Netherlands: King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima

The Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre is located at the outskirts of Arusha. The centre host a museum build with modern architectural design which contains the biggest collection African Art in and from all around Africa.

The Art consist of antique masks, utensils, beautiful woodcraft, statues, famous antique doors from Zanzibar, furniture, but also modern African Art like paintings and Photographs.

Besides the different shops with souvenirs like antique, woodcraft, glass art, jewellery, clothing, bags and the museum, you will also find a restaurant and a coffee bar where you can order lunch or snacks or just can take a break enjoying a cold beverage. 

Gems and Jewellery

In the main building you will find the Gems and Jewellery corner. There you will be enthusiastically welcomed by the owner Saif. (His nickname is : “ King of Tanzanite”, due to his sheer amount of knowledge of this beautiful precious gem). He will tell you all there is to know about Tanzanite, a blue / violet gem that’s unique in the world and only found in Tanzania.

Here you can buy, trustworthy, with official certificate, different kinds of gems and jewellery including: Tanzanite, Rubies, Tsavorite, Diamonds, Safire and Opals.

The gems can be purchased in different sizes and different quality as loose stones or already included in jewellery.
