We zijn net terug van onze Kampeersafari in Tanzania en 5-daags relaxen in Zanzibar. De terugreis verliep zoals gepland zonder tegenslagen.

De kampeersafari was adembenemend en de 5-daagse op Zanzibar verliep vlekkeloos. Het was in zijn geheel een zeer mooie en intense reis. Een stevig bad Afrika.

De organisatie ter plaatse was vlekkeloos en werd door ons zeer gewaardeerd. Steeds stipt op afspraken, flexibel en zorgzaam.

Nogmaals onze hartelijk dank aan jezelf en aan onze gids Salim om de gevolgen van de foute bagageafhandeling door KLM op te vangen en om de impact ervan op onze reis te beperken.

We waren gelukkig om jullie aan onze zijde te hebben.

Zojuist terug gekomen van een fantastische safari in Tanzania, Arusha. Geweldig georganiseerd door African Heart Expeditions. En uitstekend begeleid door onze gids Salim.

Bij African Heart Expeditions, organiseren ze een safari zodanig dat de driver ALLE tijd heeft om welk beest dan ook aanwezig en zichtbaar, ruimschoots te volgen. Met zoveel tijd tot onze beschikking hebben we bijvoorbeeld een chita-kill gezien en het paringsritueel van de leeuwen.

Naast de safari’s hebben ze voor ons ook enkele stammen uitgezocht welke wij hebben mogen bezoeken. Natuurlijk de Maasai en zo mogelijk nog indrukwekkender: de Bushmen. Onvergetelijk!

Ook hebben zij voor ons een mix van lodges en tented camps uitgezocht die volledig aan onze wensen voldeden. Op schitterende lokaties gelegen (Isoitok en Kati Kati en Sopa). Allen erg gastvrij en met zeer vriendelijke bediening.

“We took the 6-days lodge safari. The parks are all worth a visit. If you like thousands of birds flying around your head, visit Lake Manyara, Tarangiri is a small, but very beautiful park with a variety of animals. The serengeti is huge, you must have seen it and you can spot many lions there, in Ngorongoro , thousands of wildebeasts graze before your eyes. The guide / driver knows and sees a lot. It never gets boring. Really recommended is Kati Kati camp, in the middle of the Serengeti. This is an real experience, especially when the hyenas passes next to your tent . Lake Burunge Tented Camp is very luxurious and you have a beautiful view on the wide surroundings. Isoitok Tented Camp near Lake Manyara is smaller, but definitely worth it. Very tasteful and cozy decorated and the owner Chris, is very friendly. Too bad we could not stay here a bit longer. The Sopa Lodge in Ngorongoro is quite big and busy. This is rather a hotel. You have a beautiful view on the crater here. We get a lot of information from Peter when we arrived in Arusha. I would recommend this safari to anyone. A truly unforgettable event !!”

“ I recently completed a 14 day safari organised by Peter of African Heart, my fourth, with African Heart and seventh overall in Africa. My friend and I started in Kenya, three parks ,and Tanzania four parks. We had a great time as usual, staying in various types of accommodation, with excellent attention by staff and good food put on the table, the guiding by Salim in particular was excellent, his eagle eye and networking with other drivers produced many memorable moments, we saw 139 lions of various sizes, which was great, but did not beat my record with Salim of 163 in October of 2012. Numerous other animals also made themselves known to us by their appearance.I can recommend Peter, African Heart and his organisation to any potential clients. I encourage all of you to get out there if you can and see the greatest animal show on earth.

“A journey of my life. That way you could name it. In September 2016 I made this trip organized by African Heart Expeditions. We got a tour guide who saw everything. The behaviour of the animals could predict and much about the animals knew. Everything was taken care of. In addition to the clear briefing, everything went on rolls. True attention to the customer, even though you were no longer a customer. Before the trip, there was regular contact and all our questions were answered. During the safari there was nothing too much. As a hobby photographer, I came more than enough to draw. Greeted by the Tanzania virus, I decided to go again this year. “We just returned from Tanzania and had a great trip! Safari was good and guide Salim is very good at spotting all the animals, especially the cats with his personal favourite: the cheetah. We've seen various cats eating their fresh prey. Meals were good, thx to Fouraha. We liked camping instead of staying in lodges for being close to where it all happens. Our Kilimanjaro trip was even better: we both reached the summit in a very good atmosphere with special thanks to our guide Omar. He was very professional and paid special attention to our wellbeing. “Our trip to Zanzibar, Tanzania and back to Zanzibar, was the journey of our life. Great excursion on Zanzibar (dolphin trip & safari blue were incredible), unforgettable climb of Mt. “We had a wonderful trip and I have to say a large part of that was due to Adam who was a great guide/driver - not only was he a really nice guy but his great driving skills, knowledge of the animals and birds and the area itself was to be really praised, and I would highly recommend him to anyone. A lot is of course a matter of luck in what you see but Adam also seemed to know where to go to find them. The parks/areas we went to and the places we stayed we all fantastic. In hindsight I can now understand the converstions we had prior to going about where the best places were to see the animals at that time of year - Ndutu was definitely it. The fact that the rain came early also changed things a bit it seems including making the area quite wet and boggy. Lake Manyara although it is only a small park seemed to have a lot of animals and was really a great setting, fantastic. The Norongoro Crater is really amazing, and the day we went the weather was really good, that also was an amazing experience. The Farmhouse Lodge was a great choice and was a nice bit of luxury, it was really beautiful and we had a great night there. Ndutu camping was a really nice spot - all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and you certainly have some good "chefs", we were looked after extremely well We saw the plains with hundreds of wilderbeast and zebra etc, so I can imagine what the peak time must be like. The second camp in Tarangire was also in a great spot and the park is really nice. Obviously the rain early had made a big difference to this park with the high grasses and bridges broken down but it is still a nice park. Once again our second shift of staff were equally good and friendly and the chef fabulous. We congratulate you on the whole set up it is really great. The whole experience was fantastic and we had a wonderful time - 9 days was about right - and we were sorry to leave. We have some amazing photos to sift through. “My wife & I went in Tanzania for a honeymoon. That is really a great place to go to.We spent 1 week on a safari trip in Lac Manyara, N'Gorongoro, Serengeti (3 days) in campsites during nights. Adam and Fuaraha (sorry for the possible mistake in the name..) were so kind to us. I strongly recommend them. We saw thousands of animals, of all kinds. Do not hesitate to go a bit far, were the others do not (we saw a lion hunting a baboon!).Try to get up very early to benefit of the good sunlight for the pictures !After that, we travelled to Zanzibar, for about 10 days. A very pleasant destination. In Stone Town, try to have diners on the port, were there are plenty of people at night, and do not hesitate to walk in the very tight streets, and to go the the markets.After that, we went for a tour of the island : Kizimkazi, Uroa, Nungwi. Very nice beaches on the east and north.For the Jozani forest, maybe the guide will try to do the very minimum.. insist for doing the big tour !Take your time in each place, for you can enjoy it the best.Take care of the return from Zanzibar, which can be very very long.. We went back through Nairobi (much cheaper) but it took us about 26 hours to go back to France... Do not hesitate to have your flights confirmed asap, because it can change and you can waist so much time in the airports..All the people in the African Heart team are nice and trustable. You can ask for the options you want, they are flexible. Anyway, have a good time in Tanzania !”

“It's been a year since i went up Kilimanjaro, and froze my butt off at the top. But you CANNOT forget. I keep remembering it as the greatest endeavour i threw myself at, and it was made possible by African Heart Expeditions. One of the cheapest of the official TATO and Tanapa operators, everyone you deal with is friendly and cooperative. At least, that’s what i found. Just check whenever you travel or trek with African Heart Expeditions, the guides are just as nature preserving as you are, and don’t throw any trash on park ground or anywhere. We started our holidays with a 7 days safari (Arusha NP / Lake Manyara / Serengeti / Ngorongoro / Tarangire NP), then we went to Zanzibar where we spent 2 days in Stone Town and 6 days on the East Coast. For the accomodation during the safari we combined luxury camping, lodges and permanent tented camps. The food during the luxury camping was great, congratulations again to our cook. Thanks to our very experienced guide Mohammed we saw all kinds of animals, lots of elephants, zebra, lions.... We even saw leopards...But even without the animals nature is beautiful. Zanzibar is a small paradise with its white sand and the green sea. We can definitely recommend the Spice Tour with Hamman. He is an excellent guide and very friendly. We loved staying in Breezes Beach Club as the food was great and the people are very friendly. Back home we recommended African Heart to friends and colleagues. Kind regards and all the best.
